There are some games that you unearth in your gaming career that offer a certain comfort that no other games can. Games that, even if you’ve seen all there is to see in, and played through all the content, you’ll continue to play just to exist in the world and mess around.
These are games that, once downloaded, live on your gaming system until the end of time, and for me, Session Skate Sim is one of those.
The reason is that the skating physics are so well implemented, the sandbox feel of the world is fantastic, and above all, it allows me to skate around with mindless freedom, allowing muscle memory to do the rest.
But even with this familiarity and comfort, I still find myself tweaking Session to squeeze out as much joy as possible, and one thing I’ve changed more than most is the Session Skate Sim camera settings.
I’m always on the hunt for that perfect follow-behind angle that makes me feel like there is a homie following behind me on a board, capturing all the steezy tricks I’m laying down, and luckily for you guys, I think I found the perfect settings to ensure that you can mirror them, and enjoy the same camera angles I do.
So, without further delay, let’s get into it. This is Indie Game Culture’s Session Skate Sim Best Camera Settings Guide.

Tips For Customizing Your Settings

Before we sign off, I thought it would also be helpful to offer some tips to those who don’t like either of these options and want to create a setup that is bespoke and tailored to your tastes. Here’s some pointers to make that process easier for you:
- Don’t mess around with the grind camera too much unless you are super confident, as this will usually cause the camera to snap in and out during grinds in an offputting and nauseating way.
- Remember that you can change the camera’s follow-along side by pressing the directional buttons on your controller.
- Try to find a Camera Lens and Filter that offers a subtle change. These effects can be cool for replays but can make gameplay very hard to take in.
- As a general rule, always set the middle of the screen to meet at or just below the skater’s waist. Session’s upper body animations aren’t the best, so it’s better to put focus on the board.
You’ve Got A Part To Film!
So there you have it, two of my favorite camera setups for Session Skate Sim that offer realistic and satisfying camera angles as you rip through the streets of New York, San Francisco, Philly, and beyond.
I hope that this helps, and if you want help with the rest of your settings in Session Skate Sim, then check out our Session Skate Sim Best Settings For Realism Guide.
