Chiefly, Reddit user terraria_noobie has begun the challenge of drawing daily art of combinations of Hollow Knight’s characters with the game’s various sets of charms, adding some clever and hilarious additions.

For those mad players who have somehow completed Hollow Knight without using the charms, the equippable perk system allows players to leverage buffs at the expense of charm slots to increase their masks, move while focusing, or deal damage from dashing.

Frankly, while this would allow for some variety with a few neatly colored schemes, Hollow Knight has a staggering 43 charms in the game, each with distinct effects, synergies, and visual design.

Though some charms embody a specific pattern of specific biomes or objects, others are themed around Hollow Knight characters, like Grimmchild around Grimm or Grubsong around Grubfather.

As such, terraria_noobie is currently on day 23 of their challenge and has created some clever and hilarious creations like a Grubsong Radiance boasting a massive green Grub mouth at the center of its floating body or a Grimmchild Dung Defender with a new mask design and series of flower accessories to complete the image.

Admittedly, some of Noobie’s art seems rough with lazy replacements, like the broken lifeblood vessel changing the creature’s color scheme to a blue head and rose body.

However, the visual additions, like adding Thorn’s of Agony vines to the Broken Vessel for the Vessel of Agony or seeing Shape of Unn transform Hornet into a worm, were terrifying and hilarious visual gags for Hollow Knight’s grim story, offering some juicy or provocative designs.

Since committing to their challenge, terraria_noobie has mostly kept to their promise and drawn Hollow Knight art daily for the past month, occasionally taking a day off or losing their art pen.

Currently, Noobie has a list of over 60 more bosses and characters they plan on getting to, from Hiveblood Hornet to Voidheart Grimm, so Hollow Knight fans can expect to receive more art in the future.

Whether you want to check out their creations, gratifyingly watch their art style improve, or make a request of your own, you can find Noobie here.

Does Hollow Knight Silksong Have a Release Yet?

No, unfortunately for Hollow Knight fans, Silksong has yet to receive a release date. Frankly, given Team Cherry adding mountains of content into Hollow Knight, it’s not hard to imagine Silksong likewise being packed with seemingly endless amounts of bosses, challenges, and areas.

Though that’s just cheerleading on my end, it could be that the developers are struggling to balance and rework Hornet’s design for their world or writing more Zote Precepts to “inspire” us.

Overall, while one could hope these challenges would will the game into being, they at least offer a plentiful source of art to satisfy players until Hornet’s arrival in Pharloom. Who knows, we could even see a worm Hornet squeeze her way into Silksong!
