Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden Full Walkthrough – The Woodfolk

After solving yet another Haunting Case and putting the spirit of Ben the Hunter to bed once and for all, you can now head across the bridge, and onto a settlement where you will meet ‘The Woodfolk.’

This is a settlement where you will have to earn your keep if you want to stay and help lift the curse that plagues this new settlement.

You’ll immediately find that the place isn’t all that hospitable, and even less so for a banisher who was supposed to be the savior of New Eden.

But with this guide, you should be able to earn their trust and solve a few more hauntings in the process. So, without further delay, here is Indie Game Culture’s Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden Full Walkthrough – The Woodfolk.

Finding Civilisation

We begin this chapter by leaving Jacob’s Hovel one last time, and you’ll want to head back the way you came, returning to the Broken Bridge you could not cross before.

With Jacob’s Rope now in your possession, you will be able to drop down to the platform on the left of the bridge, and, using Athea’s new Leap power, you will be able to teleport across the gap, and proceed onwards. To do this, you just need to align the camera to make all the Spectral Stains align.

After this, you will come to a clearing where you’ll once again have to make use of the Leap ability to find a path forward. Only this time, you’ll need to deal with a number of Specter enemies to clear the way. Be sure to focus on the Green Shield Specters, as they make taking out all other enemies much harder.

You’ll then discover your first Spectral Nest Area. These are areas where you can perform Rituals to summon Spectral hoards or, in some cases, Boss Specters that you can defeat in return for a permanent stat boost.

These challenges also tend to have certain challenge parameters; like in this case, Athea will deal more damage when she has fewer spirit points, which urges the player to keep Athea in play for longer.

After this fight, you can then climb up the ledges behind the Nest, and you’ll find a little camp. This is where you can align the Spectral Stains and use Leap to get across the gap.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden Full Walkthrough Kate Newsmith

When you Leap across, proceed a little further, and at the point where you hop over a log, a cut scene will play, and you’ll find yourself caught in a rope trap, hanging upside down and helpless. It’s at this point that you meet Kate Newsmith, one-half of the Newsmith sisters who run the Hunter’s Camp nearby.

Red will manage to talk himself out of being let down, and just as they leave him to fend for himself, a Bonewalker appears from a shack nearby.

Luckily Athea gets you down from the trap, but you’ll still need to fight them. They are a tougher enemy that can block your attacks, so the best way to take them out is by using a combo of heavy attacks, and Athea’s Leap ability.

After you defeat the Bonewalkers and Specters, you’ll want to head into the Shack that the Bonewalker appeared from, as this is where you will find a Chest containing an accessory called The Wristband of Harmony, which should automatically equip as you have no other accessory of this type.

After this, head out and along the pathway toward the Camp. You’ll fight another Bonewalker and some Wisps along the way, but now that you know what Bonewalkers are all about, this should be no problem for you. Then, before long, you’ll find yourself at the Hunter’s Camp.

Proving Yourself

Most of the Camp will be off-limits at this point as the game wants you to go and see Kate Newsmith first, but you can explore and find some resources lying around; you will also find one shack open, and inside, you’ll find a Cursed Chest.

After you’re done exploring, you’ll need to go and see Kate Newsmith, who is up on the balcony of the raised structure you saw as you entered the camp.

After a short discussion with her, you’ll learn that she is Thickskin’s sister, the woman you met at the Inn in New Eden. Plus, you’ll be informed that you’ll not be permitted to stay unless you show your worth and help out some villagers.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden Full Walkthrough Haunting Cases

This opens up two potential Haunting Cases to you. One dealing with Prudence Hake, and the other with Fortune Heayton. To proceed, you’ll only need to commit to dealing with one of these Haunting Cases, but we will provide full guides for each of these quests, listed below:

At this point, you will be pointed toward a shelter that you can use while in camp. It’s the building with the fallen tree on top of it. Here, you can rest, upgrade gear, and you’ll also find the key to Trapper Reserves, which opens a chest on the top balcony of the building where you just spoke to Kate Newsmith.

Then comes the point when you will need to complete at least one of the two available Haunting Cases in town. If you intend to get through the main quest as quickly as possible, then I would suggest the Prudence Hake quest, as it’s quicker and more straightforward.

After you have completed at least one of these questlines, you can then return to Kate Newsmith, who will tell you that you are welcome to stay, and you can then rest at your Shelter and wait for Thickskin to return to camp, which will signal the end of The Woodfolk and usher in a new chapter, The Beast.

One With The Woodfolk

It would be hard to argue that doing these jobs for Kate has made you a popular figure in the Hunter’s Camp, but the job of a Banisher is hardly an easy one.

But now that you have proved your worth, you’ve been granted asylum in camp, and come morning, you’ll be trusted with a hugely important task concerning this settlement, but we can save that for next time. I hope this guide helped, and as always, thanks for reading Indie Game Culture
