Coral Island Fishing Guide – How to Catch All Fish

After a long day in the fields, fishing is one of the activities I enjoy doing in farming sims. In Coral Island, fishing can be a great way to earn money, increase your affinity with a romance, and even help restore the land.

There are tons of fish to catch, but they’re only in some available bodies of water. You’re going to have to do a bit of fishing to find out where they all are. Or you can check out this guide on fishing in Coral Island and save yourself the trouble.

Fishing Locations in Coral Island – Grab Your Tackle and Get Ready to Explore

There are thirteen different fishing locations scattered across the map. All of them have fish for you to catch. Not all of these areas are immediately accessible, however.

You may need to progress in the game to access a location like one of the lakes in the mine, for example. That said, take a look at the different fishing locations and what fish you can catch there.

Just north of the farm is the rice field. You’ll find it nestled up in the ranch area. It’s an easy field to miss for fishing because you may not immediately think you can fish there, but you can. You’ll need to head to the Huntress Cabin, where you’ll find a viewing deck.

Stand on the deck, and you can access the water from there. The most exciting fish you’ll catch here is the crab.

Scattered about the farm are small ponds. I like to fish here when I can since traveling from one place to the next takes a short time. These ponds also have fish that you can catch throughout the year.

Remember that you may need to clear a path to access some of the ponds. All the fish that spawn in the ponds are common, so you won’t be able to make the big bucks just fishing in your farm.

There are a few rivers that run through the island. The river that runs closest to the farm and starts near the Recycling Center has its own fish, while other rivers have some of the same and different fish. You can travel easily to reach this particular river.

Just head east to the bridge and cast your line. Two legendary fish spawn here. The Golden Gar and Sturgeon lurk somewhere in this river.

The river that cuts through the forest is in the northern part of the map. You may need to progress in the game a bit to access an easy fishing spot. However, you can access a small portion of the river on the northwest side near some waterfalls.

Otherwise, if you can’t find a place to cast your line, you may need to restore a few altars at the Lake Temple to unlock new areas. The legendary Giant Stringray spawns in this location.

The final river runs just along the northern part of town. You’ll need to head into the Woodlands region to find it. This river is accessible from the start of the game, so you can start fishing in it immediately.

A few areas may be challenging to reach, but if you come to the river from the eastern side, you shouldn’t have too many problems. Both Koi and Barramundi spawn in this river, so if you need some rare fish, take a look here.

The estuary can take time to find. You’ll need to head southwest. You’re in the right area if you’re near the sacred tree. The estuary is the part where the river connects to the ocean. It’s right between the farm and the lookout.

Plenty of places to cast your line here, so choose a spot on the shore and try your luck. It’s in the estuary that you can catch the legendary Green Sawfish.

Like the rivers, the ocean is also split up into different zones. Different fish spawn in each zone, although some spawn in multiple zones. The dock portion of the ocean is the tavern area. Zarah’s boat is a crucial landmark.

You can fish right off the dock before heading into the tavern for some food. This is also the only spot to catch a Great White Shark.

One of the most accessible places to fish is the beach. Head to the south on your map until you hit the sandy shore. You have several different places where you can fish here. There’s the shoreline, which has more Common fish than other varieties.

You can also get your feet wet and head deeper into the water to catch more challenging fish. The Damselfish is one of the rarer catches here.

Keep heading west of the beach until you come to the inn. A few more meters past that, to the west, is the lookout area. The water surrounding the lookout is full of fish.

You can cast your line right from the shore or off the dock. Two legendary fish can spawn here–the Hammerhead and the Raja Ampat Shark.

It can be challenging to find this next area since it’s easy to mistake it for the estuary. Head west of your farm, and you’ll see an area of ocean that looks polluted or just unhealthy. This is the ocean area that exists within the forest.

You’ll find two legendary fish here, among other more common types. The Monkfish and the Giant Sea Bass can potentially spawn in this area.

Head to the cavern to fish in this area. You’ll find a river that runs along the cavern’s entrance. Don’t head too far north, or you’ll leave this particular fishing zone and enter another. Stick around the cave entrance to have access to the fish that spawn here.

Most of the fish that spawn in this body of water are uncommon, but one fish is rare. You have a chance of catching a Koi.

There are several bodies of water within the mine shafts. Each elemental mine has one. Even the fire mine has a lava lake you can fish in. It can be challenging to find each body of water within the mines. You may need to delve deep, or you might find it quickly. It mainly depends on the mine’s difficulty.

The mines also typically change the rarity of fish. Some that are uncommon, for example, become common in the mine. That makes it easier to catch them since they have a higher of spawning.

The Red King Arowana is one of the legendary fish that you can find in the water, wind, and fire mines.

Otherwise, head out there and enjoy some peaceful fishing.
