How To Beat The False Knight Walkthrough

Finding the False Knight

First things first, where the heck is this big brute? Well, if have unlocked the Stag Station in The Forgotten Crossroads, The False Knight’s boss area is just above the station on the map.

So head up to the hallway above, and start making your way toward the boss area. Along the way, you’ll run into a Guard enemy with a huge club.

They seem quite imposing, but they aren’t all that tough. If you want to save your Lifeblood for the big fight ahead, then run on past, but if you want some extra Geo, then take them out.

They also serve as good practice for the False Knight fight, as the False Knight is just an enhanced version of this enemy type in truth. After this, you’ll also need to fight two Wandering Husks and a Leaping Husk.

After this, you can then climb to the level above and take out the two Wandering Husks and the Horned Husk.

However, even if you don’t, the False Knight will drop into the room and kill them himself, so it’s up to you, really.

The False Knight Fight

At this point, the arena will lock you in with The False Knight, and the battle will begin. To win this fight, you need to be aware of The False Knight’s two main attacks.

These are a jumping slam attack and a ground pound attack that will cause a shockwave to make its way toward you.

The strategy here is to be wary of the ground pound attacks. Give them plenty of space to make this move, and then get ready to jump over the shockwave that comes after, jumping forward to see if you can sneak in a hit before getting to safety again.

Then as for the jumping slam attacks, these are a great opportunity to get in behind and land repeated attacks.

When they leap in the air, walk below them, and then when they slam to the ground, perform a series of slashes before backing off and waiting for their next move.

After you deal a certain amount of damage, The False Knight will then get knocked back, and their bulbous head will be exposed. Get over to it fast and land attacks until they regain their composure. Then rinse and repeat this strategy three times to win.

The only changes that occur between phases of this fight are that when they get up after being knocked down, they will perform a left-to-right slam attack.

You’ll want to give them space in the middle of the arena to do this, and you’ll want to dodge the falling debris that falls as a result of this move.

Then, it is also worth mentioning that in the third phase, the False Knights’s normal attacks will also cause debris to fall from the ceiling, so you’ll need to keep one eye out for these falling projectiles.

After you knock them down three times, they will get up once more and perform one more left-to-right slam attack, but after this is complete, they will slam through the floor, and all you need to do then is drop-down, and slash their exposed head one more time to defeat them for good.

Rewards for Beating The False Knight

Upon defeating the False Knight, the player will find the City Crest on the floor, which is an item that will give you access to the City of Tears through the Fungal Wastes, but that’s a little far off at this point, so just grab it and store it for later.

Then, you’ll also find a Large Geo Cache in a raised hideaway left of where you killed The False Knight, which will award the player about 200x Geo.

First Boss Bested
