Bomb Rush Cyberfunk September Playstation and Xbox Release Confirmed

For those that have been following Team Reptile’s new spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio and Sunset Overdrive, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, you’ll know that the game was set for release on Nintendo Switch and PC on August 18th, 2023. Well, we have good news for console gamers everywhere. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is coming to Playstation and Xbox a little later in September 2023.

Here is a look at the official announcement trailer to jog your memory:

At the time of the release of this trailer, announcing this high-octane action platformer, the game was billed as a PC-only title. However, we can only assume that due to high demand from fans, and the team having enough time and resources to do so, they have managed to widen their net, and allow all gamers to experience this upcoming graffiti-based platformer that takes place in futuristic New Amsterdam.

It’s not ideal that Xbox and Playstation players need to wait an additional two weeks before they can get their hands on this one, but equally, it’s great news that the game is hitting their respective consoles at all.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk will cost players $39.99 when it drops on the 18th of August 2023 on PC and Nintendo Switch, and in early September on Xbox and Playstation, respectively.

Bomb Rush Cyber-What?

So, if you are unaware of what Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is, allow me to enlighten you, as I am IGC’s representative on all things arcade THPS-style games, and skating games in general. This title is a love letter to games like Jet Set Radio and Sunset Overdrive. Titles that allow you to breeze around a huge metropolis, linking up combos, causing chaos, and generally moving with steeze.

The twist that this game offers in this niche sub-genre is that you’ll play as a graffiti artist who has joined a tagging crew, and is hellbent on taking over the city of New Amsterdam by beating every rival graffiti crew that stands in your way.

How do you hope to stand a chance of tagging the whole city? Well, with the help of your trusty boost packs to hop around, grind rails, and get to those spots your rivals couldn’t even hope to tag.

The game also boasts a killer 90’s hip-hop and synthwave soundtrack that will keep your head bobbing as you break out insane combos, and also features a blend of skateboarding, Inline skating, and BMX, so no matter what branch of extreme you are, this game has you covered.

I, for one, am stoked that this game will be available on my console of choice, and you can bet that when this game drops, IGC will have all the news, reviews, and guides you could ever ask for. For more indie gaming news, stick with us at IGC!
