Sea of Stars Recipes Guide – Garl’s Kitchen Is Open For Business

It’s very easy to get caught up in the cool battle animations and the grandiose stories told in JRPGs. However, a truly masterful RPG can make you stop and take note of the smaller details in the world, and one way that many games have done this is through the medium of food.

Final Fantasy XV made our mouths water with some utterly staggering-looking dishes, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim continued Bethesda’s age-old obsession with Sweet rolls, GTA had us hankering for a Gutbuster meal at Clucking Bell, and now Sea of Stars has put its hat into the ring, offering some awesome dishes for players to cook throughout their adventure.

The only problem is, without recipes on hand, you won’t be able to prepare for boss battles accordingly. I know if I was in a fight with a celestial being, I would stop to quickly chow down on a Roast Sandwich.

Well, to help you broaden your culinary horizons, we have put together a list of all the recipes in Sea of Stars, and where to find them within the game. So oil up the pan, we have work to do. Here is Indie Game Culture’s Sea of Stars Recipes Guide.

Cooking In Sea of Stars

Cooking in Sea of Stars is a very simple process. It’s not like games like Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, where you can achieve a fail state and burn your food. You simply gather the ingredients and choose the meal you want to make.

Gathering Ingredients

To cook, you’ll need to gather ingredients for each dish. These can be found in different areas across the map, and your list of ingredients will expand as you travel to new regions. So every time you see a bush with berries or some Onions growing in the ground, make a point to pick them up.

Failing that, you can always go to a Merchant who sells base ingredients and cooked meals, but this may stop you from buying weapons, armor, and relic upgrades.

Cooking Meals

Then, after all the ingredients are found, then comes the time to cook. You can only cook at campfires, which tend to be found in the same area as any save point. Simply interact with the campfire, select ‘cook’, and then fill your inventory with culinary delights to be munched on later.
