Blasphemous 2 Children of Moonlight Locations

Blasphemous II features numerous optional collectibles ranging from accessories, hidden nuns, life and fervour bar upgrades to small angels carrying vials of blood called Children of Moonlight.

While many of these collectibles add new features or smooth your gameplay, like enhancing The Penitent One’s strength, some are requirements if you aim to unlock Ending A, technically considered the best and true ending of the game – until they release a DLC and decide to include the canonical ending there.

By chance, finding the Children of Moonlight is a requirement to achieve Ending A. Therefore, I took it upon myself to hunt down all of them and put together this Blasphemous 2 Children of Moonlight Locations guide. Join me on this adventure as we scour for these mischievous little angels.

Why Find All the Children of Moonlight

Each time we encounter a flying Children of Moonlight on the map, we need to hit it with an attack to add it to our rescued angels’ compendium. As a bonus, saving them also restores our health.

Upon reaching the Garden of the High Choirs map, we encounter an NPC called Próximo, who asks for our help rescuing the Children of Moonlight. Every time we save them and talk to Próximo, platforms start forming, allowing us to reach the top of the tower.

After reaching some Children of Moonlight milestones, we can grab some rewards. I’ll list them based on the number of Children of Moonlight collected.

  • 10 Children of Moonlight found – 1 Mark of Martyrdom
  • 17 Children of Moonlight found – 2 Marks of Martyrdom
  • 24 Children of Moonlight found – Obolus of Próximo Rosary Bead (If you have double jump and mid-air dash, you can get it at 23 Children of Moonlight)
  • 29 Children of Moonlight found – 3 Marks of Martyrdom
  • 33 Children of Moonlight found – 4 Marks of Martyrdom, Giant Rattle quest item, and Gregal figure.

Some platforms require extra jumping abilities to reach them, but it’s self-explanatory since you naturally get them by progressing the game while also collecting the last Children of Moonlight.

The item we need to achieve Ending A is the Gregal figure, cunningly hidden at the top of the tower. After acquiring all the Children of Moonlight, climb to the top and keep an eye out for a sneaky grabbing wall on the left. Scale it and find the figure inside a golden chest.

Blasphemous 2 Children of Moonlight Locations

I will report the location of each Children of Moonlight separated by stages since every player will carve their own path. Just remember, many Children are only reachable after acquiring particular abilities, which will demand quite a lot of backtracking. But don’t worry cause I will tell you all about it.

I will share two screenshots with every angel: one with the Children of Moonlight on screen and the other with the map open to show you their exact location.

Ravine of the High Stones – 2 Children of Moonlight

The Ravine of the High Stones is the first stage of the game. The first Children of Moonlight serves as a tutorial on how to obtain one, while the second is only unlocked later in the game after getting new abilities.

Quite straightforward. You can miss it if you’re speedrunning, but there’s no excuse not to jump off the ledge and smack that little angel.

Children of Moonlight #2

To acquire this one, you need the Scions’ Protection ability to hang on the Brothers of Miracle and reach the Children of Moonlight. However, if you have the Chant “Debla of Lights,” you can cast it to create a pillar of light and hit the angel above.

Profundo Lamento – 1 Children of Moonlight

There are only one Children in Profundo Lamento, and you can obtain it during your first visit if you start with the Veredicto weapon.

Children of Moonlight #3

While there are other ways, the most practical way to obtain this Children of Moonlight is to use the Veredicto on the nearby bell and unlock the door. As you can see from the mirrors, it’s possible to obtain them later if you come from the other side and use the Sarmiento & Centella to shift through.

Aqueduct of the Costale – 3 Children of Moonlight

To collect all the Children of Moonlight from the Aqueduct of the Costale, you need the Veredicto. It’s a good starting point for those who picked the hammer as a weapon.

Children of Moonlight #4

You’ll see a bell right after reaching the Aqueduct of the Costale. Ring it with the Veredicto and climb the platforms to find the Children.

Children of Moonlight #5

Climb the stairs and see the Children of Moonlight on the right side. You need to use the Veredicto or a long-range Prayer to reach it.

Children of Moonlight #6

There are a few steps to obtain this one. First, climb the wall on the right and interact with the statue, aligning the platform to reach the closed door.

Then, activate the stair shortcut below next to the platform and ring the bell at the bottom. When the bell’s aura starts filling the map, run back up, climbing the same wall where you activated the platform, and jump onto it to reach the now-unlocked door. The Children of Moonlight is inside the next room.

City of the Blessed Name – 3 Children of Moonlight

The first Children of Moonlight can be obtained after unlocking the big platform to the right of the confessional. You do it by activating the first teleportation room. The subsequent ones require progressively better abilities, such as double jump and mid-air dash. Since we frequently return to the City of the Blessed Name, acquiring the Children becomes natural.

On the way to the Blood Upgrade room you can find a small slide space hiding a Children of Moonlight. The little angel is eagerly waiting for you.

Children of Moonlight #8

After acquiring the double jump ability, climb the staircase to the left of the city’s Prie Dieu and jump to the house on the right platform. The Children of Moonlight is on the right, reachable with yet another double jump.

Children of Moonlight #9

I obtained this Children somewhat unconventionally, but I believe you can acquire them in various ways. First, you need both the Veredicto and the Sarmiento & Centella. Starting from the shop in the City of the Blessed Name, climb the staircase to the right, ring the bell, climb the platforms on the left, and use the Rapier to teleport through the mirror.

The Children of Moonlight is to the left of this platform. However, the double jump isn’t enough to reach it. The standard method would be to use a mid-air dash and hit it with a normal attack.

In my case, I used the Quick Verse “Rosa of the Three Stars,” which shoots three fireballs, to reach it. All my teen years in the church are finally paying off.

Grilles and Ruin – 1 Children of Moonlight

Only one Children, and no secret to it. You can obtain it during your first visit.

Children of Moonlight #10

As you can see from the image, the platform is reachable with a basic jump. Quite hard to miss this one.

Palace of the Embroideries – 1 Children of Moonlight

The only Children here require the use of the Sarmiento & Centella, which incidentally is obtained in the Palace of the Embroideries itself if you didn’t pick it at the beginning. The Veredicto or double jump is also required.

Children of Moonlight #11

In the room to the right of the middle Prie Dieu of the stage, you’ll find two mirrors that will teleport you to the top. There, you’ll find a slightly right-leaning Children of Moonlight. I managed to hit it by switching to the Veredicto as soon as I teleported, but you can reach it with a double jump or some long-range Quick Verse.

Mother of Mothers – 2 Children of Moonlight

The Children of Moonlight in Mother of Mothers requires the Veredicto and the Sarmiento & Centella, which you’ll probably have at this game stage.

Children of Moonlight #12

Orient yourself on the map to find this room, as it’s far from any point of interest. You must teleport through the mirrors to reach a platform near the Children of Moonlight. The Veredicto has enough range to reach it, but a quick double jump will do the trick.

Children of Moonlight #13

Another Children of Moonlight acquired through improvisation. You can easily spot it, but it’s distant. A bell just below activates platforms on the left, but you still can’t reach it without a double jump.

You can do as I did, casting the Quick Verse “Rosa of the Three Stars” or the Chant “Debla of Lights.” If you don’t have any, double jump away.

Choir of Thorns – 2 Children of Moonlight

The two Children of Moonlight found here are readily accessible but might deceive the unaware as they hide in the background. Use my map screenshots for spot-on navigation.

Children of Moonlight #14

Easy to reach but a bit hard to spot. This Childen is slightly hidden behind the foliage of the background.

Children of Moonlight #15

Like the previous one, this Children is hidden behind the surroundings but becomes visible as you approach. Climb onto the nearby platform and free it from its bonds of shackled fate.

Crown of Towers – 2 Children of Moonlight

The first Children can be freed by progressing the Crown of Towers. The second one is in the same room as a Prie Dieu but requires the double jump. Unlocking the fast travel between Prie Dieus by saving Cobijadas makes the process easier.

The Children of Moonlight will be floating near you as you climb the tower. Jump and smash their cage.

Children of Moonlight #17

This Children hovers at the top of the Prie Dieu room at the bottom of the Crown of Towers. Climb the wall on the left and double-jump toward the little angel’s liberty.

Elevated Temple – 4 Children of Moonlight

The Elevated Temple is the most confusing map in Blasphemous 2, both in terms of navigation and obtaining items. I know I might sound lazy, but please orient yourself using the minimap in the screenshots for locations, as once you reach the correct spot, acquiring the Children of Moonlight is simple with the proper ability set.

Children of Moonlight #18

Super easy to grab, but I didn’t pay attention initially. The Children of Moonlight is beneath a droppable platform. Hold down and press jump to descend and hit the target.

Children of Moonlight #19

You’ll find a climbable wall in the upper left of the Temple and a mirror just above it. Teleport with the Rapier, and you’ll land in a spot with the Children of Moonlight just above. Use a double jump and the Veredicto to reach it.

Children of Moonlight #20

You’ll find this on the right side of the Elevated Temple. It requires a double jump and mid-air dash to reach, best left for the endgame.

Children of Moonlight #21

This sneaky little one was one of the most elusive Children of Moonlight. As you climb for the platforms of the Elevated Temple for the first time, you should jump and fall through the right corner once you reach the top. Initially, you will land on a platform with 800 Tears of Atonement. Keep descending, and you’ll find the flying Children of Moonlight hovering about.

Unfortunately, I don’t have the exact location screenshot because I was tirelessly searching the entire map for the third time and stumbled upon it by luck. My reflexes made me hit it before I took a screenshot. But if you orient yourself based on the overview map location, you’ll find it.

Beneath Her Sacred Grounds – 1 Children of Moonlight

You acquire the double jump ability in this map, opening up numerous new possibilities for antics and platforming.

Children of Moonlight #22

Once you defeat the boss and obtain the double jump, there’s only one path on your way out. Along this path, you’ll come across a Children of Moonlight, persuading you to put your newly acquired technique to use.

Hang onto the platform’s ledge above, hold down, and press the jump button to let go. In mid-air, jump again and reach the target.

Basilica of Absent Faces – 1 Children of Moonlight

An easy-to-save Children of Moonlight. They can be rescued right after defeating the boss of this stage.

Children of Moonlight #23

After vanquishing the boss and watching the cutscene, climb back into the elevator, and the Children will be waiting for you above it at the top.

Sea of Ink – 1 Children of Moonlight

Easy to spot, but you may need to bring some Prayers to the rescue.

Children of Moonlight #24

Proceed normally through the linear map of the Sea of Ink until you reach the entrance to the Sunken Cathedral. The Children of Moonlight will appear in the upper right corner of your screen.

I couldn’t reach it even with a double jump and mid-air dash. So, I brought out the big guns and cast the Chant Debla of Lights below the Children to implode it into a light cone.

Sunken Cathedral – 1 Children of Moonlight

By now, you already have every jumping ability possible, so it’s easier to catch any annoying angel who craves freedom.

Children of Moonlight #25

Look at the map for directions, pretty please. The little one will be hovering above that annoying summoner of water dolphins. Free the Children and smack the minion to death, in no particular order.

Labyrinth of Tides – 2 Children of Moonlight

During your first visit, you can free the two Children of Moonlight in the Labyrinth of Tides. The first one doesn’t require any particular ability, and the second only requires the double jump and the Veredicto, which you already have.

Children of Moonlight #26

In the Labyrinth of Tides, there will be a room that looks a lot like a… labyrinth. Not quite, but similar. This enclosure will have it all; secret walls, suffocating gaps to crawl through, and a quest to complete. What you’re looking for is this suffocating gap.

On the right side of the map, there’s a small gap where you need to crawl to discover a hidden room. In it, the Children of Moonlight awaits.

Children of Moonlight #27

This Children of Moonlight is easy to catch, but you might have overlooked it because it hovers almost off the screen in a staircase that leads that connects the Labyrinth of Tides with The Severed Tower.

The Severed Tower – 2 Children of Moonlight

Both Children of Moonlight are hidden behind breakable walls. The first one you can get as soon as you reach the Severed Tower. The second one requires the Scions’ Protection ability, which allows you to hang on to small hoops to reach new heights.

Children of Moonlight #28

This one is quite tricky. I will show the hidden wall’s location, not the angel’s, because it’s straight after entering the secret room. This room harbors a corridor from The Severed Tower to the Sunken Cathedral. The angel is located in this corridor.

Children of Moonlight #29

As soon as you acquire the Scions’ Protection ability, you’re probably revisiting all the unexplored chunks of the map. This Children of Moonlight is not only on a platform reachable with the help of this ability but also hidden behind an invisible wall.

Check my screenshot to know precisely where. Secrets like these are why I became paranoid and started swinging my weapon against every gaming wall.

Streets of Wakes – 1 Children of Moonlight

There is only one Children of Moonlight, located right at the entrance of the Streets of Wake. However, the double jump and mid-air dash abilities are required.

Children of Moonlight #30

From the entrance of Streets of Wakes, go to the third segment of the map, after a solo room. There, climb the platforms and return to the left side through them. One of the platforms will only be reachable with a mid-air dash and double jump.

Continue going back to the entrance of the map through the platforms, and you’ll eventually find the angel within the weapon’s length.

Sacred Entombments – 1 Children of Moonlight

I included Sacred Entombments as one of the last places because it was the map where I started my unholy pilgrimage. Therefore, I forgot to revisit it for quite some time. It also requires almost endgame abilities.

Children of Moonlight #31

As usual, we need the double jump and mid-air dash. You can approach this site from the Prie Dieu or the teleport room. The angel is located above the first area where the sand descends.

Climb the wall on the right, jump to the left, and perform a mid-air dash. As soon as you see the Children of Moonlight, smack them.

Two Moons – 2 Children of Moonlight

The last two, let’s go!

By now, we have all the abilities and probably an arsenal of Prayers that would make Rome jealous. So, it’s just a matter of hunting down the remaining Children. However, Two Moons is a bit confusing with its upside-down architecture.

Children of Moonlight #32

Okay, this is awkward. As you can see from the screenshot, the Children of Moonlight is hovering quite high. I believe you can reach it using a double jump paired with a mid-air dash. If needed, throw in some Prayer to reach the little fella.

I wouldn’t know because I was using the “Aubade to the Sleepless Iron” Prayer, which summons a guardian to strike nearby enemies. Ironically, it hit a flying head and the Children of Moonlight as well, freeing it for me. Thank you, fellow guardian.

Children of Moonlight #33

blasphemous 2 children of moonlight #33

This Children of Moonlight is near a ladder shortcut that you activate once you return to the correct vertical side of Two Moons. As you can see from the map, there’s a fountain up close. You’ll start from the bottom, activate the fountain down there, and appear on the top side of Two Moons.

Then, descend through the rooms and reach this shortcut. You’ll need to do some platforming by hanging onto the brothers’ hoops to finally get the last and elusive Children of Moonlight.

Now that you’ve collected all of them, it’s time to head back to the Garden of the High Choirs, talk to Próximo, and unleash the spoils.

Good job! I’m proud of you.
