Sea of Stars has a myriad of collectibles to promote its excellent adventuring and exploration. Rainbow Conches, Musical Sheets, fishes, combo scrolls, recipes, and many other items are all available for the taking. However, one whose meaning always confounded me was the Question Packs.
I’ve had about eight Question Packs at once and didn’t know what to do with it. That’s because I’ve missed the place where I find the Quiz Master, the one interested in all those packs, and that would put me on a game show of sorts.
In case you want to know where to find all Question Packs, the Quiz Master, and the correct answers for their 110 questions, you’ve come to the right place. This Sea of Stars Question Packs Guide will cover all your burning questions, filled with screenshots and orientation.
What Are Question Packs
Question Packs are collectibles that add new questions whenever you interact with the Quiz Master. Each pack adds ten questions, and you can answer them in a game show style similar to “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” And the prize is also gold in the form of valuables. Also, a Flimsy Hammer for answering them all.
When you’re about to participate in the Quiz Master’s show, you can choose between Casual and Expert modes for each Question Pack. The casual mode allows you to make mistakes up to 2 times, ask Teaks for help three times, and only requires you to get six questions right.
The expert mode doesn’t allow errors, only allows one Teaks’ help, and requires you to answer all ten questions within the specific pack. So, if you’re here because you want to know the answers to each Question Pack, I’ll dedicate a section solely to that.
Where to Find the Quiz Master
Let’s start from the beginning: where to find the NPC interested in the Question Packs. They and their show are located in the Town of Lucent, on Wraith Island. You can catch them as soon as you acquire the Graplou.
Head to the town’s bridge, climb it, and use the Graplou to grab onto the trunk on the other side. Follow the path until you find an entrance on the inn’s second floor. Inside, there’s a chest containing the Turbo Cookie.
With the cookie in hand, go to the western part of Lucent in search of the hungry ghost. His name is Melee Matey, and he’ll thank you for the cookie by trying to kill you. Return the favor and free him from this corporeal world. In victory, he’ll ask you to search his grave, found just nearby. You’ll unearth a Shed Key, which opens the door just east of the city’s exit, next to the bridge.
Enter the shed, go downstairs, and walk until you find a pot. Interact with it, and you’ll discover they’re the Quiz Master. You’ll automatically teleport into the middle of the showbiz and need to answer a set of questions. When you finish, you’ll be outside the show’s house. You can return to it from the river in Lucent.
All Questions Packs Location
Each Question Pack in your possession will be automatically handed over to the Quiz Master every time you enter his show’s house. Before the Q&A game starts, you choose which pack and difficulty you want to face. After winning the category, you’ll receive a valuable as reward.
Question Pack #1 will already be in the Quiz Master’s possession, so you’ll need to find Question Pack #2 through #11. Keep in mind, however, that #11 is one of the rarest and most challenging items to obtain, and you’ll soon discover why.
Question Pack #2 – Rebuilt Town of Brisk
Near the fountain at the town center of Brisk, walk east and enter the nearby house. Inside, a man will offer a game of spin the roulette for 10 gold. You can’t win by usual means, so try once and exit.
Talk to the sketchy man just outside and pay the hefty 90 gold for insider’s information. He will give you the correct game number. Once you play again and win, the reward will be Question Pack #2.
Question Pack #3 – Haunted Mansion
Look for a bookshelf to the left with a spark in the library of Haunted Mansion, where the statue puzzles happened. Interact with it to find the Question Pack #3.
Question Pack #4 – Jungle Path
From the Jungle Path’s entrance, jump into the water and swim west until you find the chest with Question Pack #4 floating.
Question Pack #5 – Songshroom Marsh
Near Yomara’s house, there’s a door to the south. Chances are you already opened it. Go through the door, and you will find an easy-to-spot chest.
Question Pack #6 – Cloud Kingdom
The chest with Question Pack #6 is beside the save point in the Cloud Kingdom’s inn.
Question Pack #7 – Cerulean Expanse
After killing the Dweller of Dread, you can find an NPC in Repine’s inn that shares some cryptic directions with you. Those are the exits you take on the Cerulean Expanse to reach an oasis packed with treasure – Question Pack #7 among them. It goes as follows: South, Southwest, Southeast, South.
Question Pack #8 – Sky Base
Chances are you got this one on your first visit to the base. From its midpoint save, you needed to keep moving forward until you found an elevator. Besides this elevator was a chest with Question Pack #8.
If you missed it, you can return to the Sky Base, take the blue teleporter from the entrance, and transfer to a campfire. From this location, backtrack to the sideways elevator, click on the left console to go west, and when you finally get to the elevator that takes you down, you’ll find yourself in the midpoint save location.
Question Pack #9 – Repine
This is one of the most complex Question Packs because it requires finding four Data Strips items beforehand. So I’m gonna guide you to where you can find the Data Stripes, turn them into a Cypher, and open the closed door in Repine that shelters the pack.
Data Strip #1 – Speedball Network Station
In the middle of the ocean in Seraï’s world is the Speedball Network Station. Next to the speedball is a chest with a Data Strip.
Data Strip #2 – Cerulean Reservoir
Cerulean Reservoir is a fishing spot to the right of Repine. Jump into the oily lake and swim north to find the Data Strip chest.
Data Strip #3 – Repine
A small corridor in Repine will take you directly to a chest with this Data Strip.
Data Strip #4 – Fleshmancer’s Lair
The first room in Fleshmancer’s Lair presents a move-the-block puzzle. The second is a move-the-eyeball puzzle, and that’s the one we want. On the right side of the room, there’s a chest behind some breakable rocks. Slide the eyeball into them and get the last Data Strip.
Back to Repine for Question Pack #9
Return to Repine and interact with a table in Seraï’s house. It will take all four Data Strips and transform them into a Cypher. With this item in hand, go to the weapon shop in Repine and open the closed door to the left, finally revealing the location of Question Pack #9.
Question Pack #10 – Fleshmancer’s Lair
In the last room of Fleshmancer’s Lair, you will find surprisingly amicable cultists. One of them says you can rest in a room nearby, and despite all suspicions, we’re not stabbed to death in our sleep. This campfire room has a chest with Question Pack #10.
Question Pack #11 – Golden Pelican
This is one of the trickiest items to get in the entire game, but I don’t feel so keen to spoil some major story beats for you in search of a not-so-interesting item. I will say, however, that the Golden Pelican is one of the last places you go to after completing everything there’s to the game – including finishing it once. Because when you do, the Moorlands ruins start glowing, and that’s your next quest.
When you complete the Moorlands ruin quest, dining at the Golden Pelican becomes your next goal, so it’s really straightforward from this point on. You get the Question Pack #11 at the end of the dinner.
My walkthrough suggestion is:
- Enjoy and finish the game once;
- Get all the Rainbow Conches;
- Complete every side character quest;
- Go to the portal in Moorlands;
- Start the quest to go to the Golden Pelican.
All Question Pack’s Right Answers

The Star of the Show Business
I love a good old quiz session. Question Packs adds a simple but fun feature to Sea of Stars. Plus, it’s the most efficient way to acquire gold when you’ve already done all the alternatives. Since it took me a while to find the Quiz Master on my first playthrough, the collection of valuables brought me to 999 gold, all of which I invested in giving my companions a relaxing spa day.
Acquiring all the Question Packs is a bit of a hassle, but it’s still amusing. If you’re on the hunt for other collectibles, check out our several Sea of Stars guides and strive for that 100% completion.
