Since it got released in June 2022, Neon White has been considered by a lot of critics as one of the best Indie Platform games of recent times. Everyone loved it, including me, and it’s because it has everything a good game should have nowadays.
Neon White has a wonderful story, relatable characters, funny moments, a very wild antagonist, top-tier gameplay, godlike music, and of course, collectibles, also known as gifts.
The gifts in Neon White are very important; with them, you can have access to very hard sidequests, hilarious moments with Yellow, Violet, and Red, gifts from Raz and Mikey, memories from White’s life when he was alive, and most importantly, a secret ending.
The thing is that these gifts are tricky to get, but worry not, my dearest demon killer, as I’m here to help you with this task. But first, I want to give you some tips:
Notes before Gift Hunting
You don’t need to beat the whole game before starting to hunt gifts; instead, I recommend beating every level a couple of times before going for the gift. Trying to get Ace on every level is a great way to get used to a level.
I’m telling you this because I won’t be covering anything unrelated to the gifts, but there will be moments when you will need to go through a specific stage phase without using a Card as you need it to get a Gift.
Also, don’t worry if you accidentally miss a Gift and continue with the mission; you can always go back to previous missions so you get those Gifts you left behind. This also means you can skip a Gift if you don’t get it after a while. Been there, done that!
Mission 1: Rebirth
1-1, Movement
The first gift of the game is on a tower near the water ring at the end of the level. It’s not hard to reach.
1-2, Pummel
This gift is next to the group of Balloon Demons near the level’s end. You’ll get there by discarding a Purple Card near the gift to set a bomb that will send you flying.
1-3, Gunner
For this gift, you need two Purple Cards. Try to reach the end of the level with at least two. The gift is in a big pillar at the end of the level. You have to reach the tilted platform you see in the picture.
Set a bomb in the platform, and use a second bomb when you are near the pillar to reach the gift.
1-4, Cascade
For this gift, continue as usual until you reach the end of the water slides. Here, kill the Yellow Demon and return to the spawn point. You’ll see the gift there. You’ll need a Yellow Card to reach it.
1-5, Elevate
For this one, you need just a couple of Yellow Cards; There’s a Yellow Demon near the gift and another one in the second hallway. Reach the hallway after the first gap, then jump to the towers with the Yellow Cards.
1-6, Bounce
This gift hides near the start of the level, exactly where you can find the first Yellow Card on the stage. Pick it up, as you’ll need it, and drop yourself through the left. Jump in the air with the Yellow Card, and you’ll reach the gift.
1-7, Purify
For this gift, pick the two Purple Cards and reach the platform where you can find the only lone Demon on the stage. From there, you can use a bomb to set foot on the platform near the tallest tower and another bomb to reach the gift.
1-8, Climb
Follow the usual level path until you reach the last gap, as seen in the picture. Reach that tower, and use a Purple Card to get the gift instead of breaking the wooden wall.
1-9, Fasttrack
The gift is on a pillar you can see from the ending portal. You need to do some Card management to get it, so here’s a video showing the process:
1-10, Glass Port
This gift is at the rooftop of the big building at the end of the level.
It’s pretty tricky to get, so refer to the following video:
Mission 2: Killer Inside
2-1, Take Flight
Continue as usual through the level until you see the first Yellow Demon. Kill it, and keep its card, then get up the stairs and kill the other Yellow Demon and keep its card.
The zone in the picture is what you can see if you turn back after killing the second Yellow Demon. There’s a gable roof you can reach by jumping. Go there, then jump and use the two Yellow Cards to collect the gift.
2-2, Godspeed
You can see this gift during the usual path; you must continue through the level until you see a Blue Card on a staircase. You can get up the wall next to the card, and there, you can see an alternative path that will take you to a tower.
As you reach the tower, jump and dash with the Blue Card to get the gift.
2-3, Dasher
This gift is at the start of the level. It’s tricky to get, so here’s a video to help you out:
2-4, Thrasher
The gift is in the sewers at the end of the level. How can you reach it? It’s pretty simple. Here’s how:
2-5, Outstretched
You can see the gift on the balcony of the first building if you turn to the left. Jump and dash to the nearby building, then dash to the building where the gift is.
2-6, Smackdown
First, try to get two or three Yellow Cards, and don’t waste them; you’ll need them to reach the gift.
Go to the end of the level. You’ll see the gift in a tower of the central building, so first, climb to the walls with trees. You can get there without wasting cards.
After that, find the wall near the gift and use the Yellow Cards to reach the gift.
2-7, Catwalk
The gift is inside the building surrounded by a circular water slide. It’s near the ceiling, so you can’t reach it with a jump.
So, to get it, keep the Blue Card and go through the water slide. There, you’ll see a Balloon Demon (the one you see in the picture). Jump at it, turn towards inside the building and dash.
2-8, Fastlane
This one is easy to get; reach the only Card of the level, which is on a glass platform. Then, turn back and dash to the gift.
2-9, Distinguish
This one might be tricky to get. First, go as usual through the level until you reach a water slide with a Blue Card. Pick the Card.
You can see the gift in the central building, exactly like in the picture. To reach it, return to the edge of that same water platform, jump, and dash towards the gift.
2-10, Dancer
The gift is in a tower, very far from the usual path. You can see it from the start of the level by turning to the right. Here’s a video of how to get it:
Mission 3: Only Shallow
3-1, Guardian
The gift is on the roof of the building with a wooden door and a Guardian keeping it.
From the start of the level, grab the Purple Card and shoot at the first Guardian. Then, get down the stairs and drop yourself from the balcony towards two Purple Cards.
Shoot at the Guardian in front of the door, and use the three Purple Cards to reach the top of the building.
3-2, Stomp
The gift is behind a window in the building with water slides.
From the start of the level, pick up the Green Card and stomp the wooden floor. As soon as you break the floor and fall, instead of stomping again, start moving to the right, exactly, to the zone with two sloped roofs. Try to land on the higher one.
As you get there, drop yourself into the void but turn back to see the inside of the building; there are small ledges you can set foot on. Then, jump towards the gift.
3-3, Jumper
You can see the gift from the balcony on the first part of the level. To get it, pick the Yellow Card, jump to the roof in front of the gift, and use the Yellow Card to reach it.
3-4, Dash Tower
You can see this gift from the zone with multiple Demons and a Blue Card vending machine. From this place, kill the Yellow Demon and keep its Card. Then pick a Blue Card from the vending machine. Jump, dash towards the building and use the Yellow Card to get the gift.
3-5, Descent
The gift is very hidden in a building near the start of the level. Here’s a video to help you out:
3-6, Driller
Immediately after starting the level, instead of going forward, turn back. You’ll see a balcony and two roofs with holes in them. Look inside the first hole, and you’ll see the gift!
3-7, Canals
You can see this gift in the final zone of the level, very high on a tower’s ledge. You need to do a bit of Card management here, so it’s better if I show you how in a video:
3-8, Sprint
This gift is in a central building at the end of the level. It’s somewhat hard to reach it as you’ll not count with Yellow Cards, but don’t worry; you can do it with Blue Cards. Here’s how:
3-9, Mountain
Progress as usual until reaching the zone shown in the picture:
Here, kill all the Green Demons by shooting at them so you keep their Cards. After that, stomp on the wooden floor so you get two Purple Cards, and immediately after stomping, move to the right so you land on a circular roof. Be careful with the Guardians.
Drop yourself into the void; you’ll see a hidden wooden floor. Use all the cards you kept to get the gift.
3-10, Superkinetic
Another lengthy gift to get. Here’s the process:
- At the start of the level, kill the Green Demons by shooting at them with the Blue Card, so you keep Blue Cards on your deck.
- Continue as usual through the level until you reach a gap that leads to a water slide with a Yellow Card.
- Dash to the water slide, pick the Card and then get back, but instead of dashing back, turn down; you’ll see a Blue Demon and some barrels there. Drop yourself there, shoot at the barrel (so you kill the Demon and pick its Card), and you’ll return to the previous zone.
- Then, turn back to the zone shown in the picture, jump at the box, use the Yellow Card to reach the roof, place yourself at the highest point, jump, and dash three times until you get the gift.
Mission 4: The Old City
4-1, Arrival
For this gift, you’ll have to use the impulse you get by detonating the barrels midway through the level. It’s not hard to pull out!
Nonetheless, if you lack height, try to keep one of the Blue Cards you get at the start of the level and use it to dash towards the gift.
4-2, Forgotten City
This gift is on a tower in front of the ending portal. To get it, reach the last part of the level with two Blue Cards. Then use all the Balloon Demons at the end, and dash to the right when you hit the last one.
Mission 5: The Burn That Cures
5-1, Fireball
This gift is at the top of the tower at the end of the level. To get it, you’ll have to go through the level as usual until you find the Guardians shown in the following picture. You must kill them by shooting at them instead of dashing with the Red Card.
Doing that will secure you three Red Cards, so you can dash to the top of the tower and get the gift.
5-2, Ringer
The gift is at the top of a tower, but this time, at the very start of the level. You need to keep some cards by taking some shortcuts, so it’s better if I show you how to do it through a video:
5-3, Cleaner
The gift is at a very high pillar you can see from the start of the level. Here’s a video explaining how to get it:
5-4, Warehouse
This gift is at the end of the level, up in the last tower. To get it, progress through the level as usual until you get to the zone with three Red Cards. Use them to reach the gift.
5-5, Boom
This gift is at the end of the level, inside a building next to the last water slide before the portal. To get it, continue until you arrive at the zone I mentioned early, exactly this one:
As you can see, there’s a barrel there. Don’t explode it. Instead, use the Red Card inside the chest to clean the zone from danger, get up the barrel, blast it, and you’ll reach the gift.
5-6, Streets
You can see the gift in a red moss-covered structure at the end of the level.
Continue as usual through the level until you reach the last Guardian, the one in front of a Blue Demon. If you kill the Guardian by shooting at it, you’ll have three Red Cards instead of two, more than enough to shoot at the Blue Demon, dash to reach the platform with the portal, and then dash with the Red Cards to catch the gift.
5-7, Steps
The gift is in a tower near the portal at the very end of the level. To get it, you’ll need two Red Cards. The process is complicated, as it requires an awkward timing. Here’s how you must do it:
5-8, Demolition
The gift is at the top of the building with a water slide and a Red Card. It’s easy to get; reach the zone shown in the picture:
As you can see, there’s a Yellow Card vending machine; use it to get a card. You should have two Red Cards, so go to the entrance of the building I mentioned earlier and use the Yellow and Red Cards to get height and reach the gift.
5-9, Arcs
You can see the gift midway through the level, inside a building, but you’ll have to wait until the end of the stage to get it.
But first, at the very start of the level, you’ll get a Yellow Card, and there’s a Green Demon in front of you. Shoot at it, keep its card, but don’t stomp with it on the barrels that will let you continue. Instead, shoot at them. That will give you the extra Green Card you need.
Continue as usual through the level until reaching the zone with two Green Cards and four barrels to explode. Shoot at them to fly to the portal. Then, take a look to your left; there, you’ll see a breakable wooden platform like this one:
Reach it, use your cards, and you’ll get the gift.
5-10, Apartment
The chest is next to the bell at the top of the tower, and it’s easy to get. First, progress as usual through the level until you reach the zone with a lone Yellow Demon. It’ll give you a card you have to keep.
After that, reach the top of the tower, step on one of the barrels and shoot at it to fly in the air, and then use the Yellow Card to reach the gift.
Mission 6: Covenant
6-1, Hanging Gardens
You can see this gift midway through the level after blowing up a chain of tripwires to open a door.
To reach it, you must continue as usual through the level until you see two Purple Cards in a water slide. Pick them, then return and move to the building at the left. Use the two cards to reach the gift.
6-2, Tangled
The gift is on the rooftop of the last building, where the level ends. To get it, progress through the stage as usual, but when you reach a red wooden door, instead of dashing through it with the Red Card, drop yourself to the left; you’ll see some Guardians, Demons, and a chest.
Kill the Guardians and get the Red Card in the chest. Then, follow the path of the Balloon Demons, but instead of getting inside the building at the end, dash two times to the rooftop.
6-3, Waterworks
The gift is next to the spawn point, so you can see it as soon as you start the level. Nonetheless, you have to do a lot of things, so it’s better to show it in a video:
6-4, Killswitch
Again, another complicated gift. This one hides in the domed rooftop of the tower in the middle of the level. Exactly, the one you can see in the picture.
Let’s watch a video on how to get it:
6-5, Falling
This one is very hidden, but it’s also easy to find. First, pick the Red Card at the start and explode the barrels. After that, move to the right instead of landing on the rooftop. Keep doing it until you see something like this:
Then, land there, use the Red Card, and you’ll get the gift.
6-6, Shocker
This gift is at the start of the level, but you’ll have to go through the stage to get it. Eventually, you’ll find a Red Card pretty near the end of the level. Advance, and when you get in front of the ending portal, instead of using the Blue Card you find there, change to the Red Card and dash upwards so you land in the building at the right.
6-7, Bouquet
This gift is in a pillar next to the ending portal. It’s simple to find; progress as usual through the level until you get to this zone:
Here, land on the green petal of the first Shocker (the flower-like Demon), and then try to land on the petal that will take you towards the gift.
6-8, Prepare
For this gift, reach the zone shown in the picture. At this point, you should have a Blue Card, so land on the petal that will impulse you towards the gift, and then use the Blue Card to finish the job.
6-9, Triptrack
For this gift, go through the level as usual until reaching this zone:
Kill the Blue Demon by dashing at it with the Red Card. As you land on the water slide, go and kill the Yellow Demon and return to the start of the water slide. Here, you can see a ledge you can step in; go there, jump, dash with the Blue Card, and double jump with the Yellow Card. It should be enough to get the gift.
6-10, Race
For this gift, continue as usual through the level until you reach a zone with a Blue Demon. You can take a path at the left, so you can use the Blue Cards you collected through the level to get the gift.
Mission 7: Reckoning
7-1, Bubble
The gift is at the start of the level, but to get it, you’ll have to progress until you reach a bubble with two Ringer Demons.
As you reach the Ringers, turn back; you’ll see that the building with the gift inside has an open window to enter. Jump there and use a Purple Card to get the gift.
7-2, Shield
This one is a hard gift to get. Here’s a video of how to do it:
7-3, Overlook
This gift is at the end of the level. You must follow many steps, so it’s better to resume it in a video:
7-4, Pop
Continue until you reach the zone shown in the picture. Use one of the Purple Cards you should have to kill the Blue Demon, and then continue. After that, there’s a zone with some barrels in the air; shoot at them instead of dashing, so you can keep a Blue Card.
Then, reach the end of the level. Turn to the right, dash two times, and you’ll get the gift.
7-5, Minefield
For this gift, go through the level as usual until you kill the only Blue Demon on the stage. Then, instead of dashing towards the ending portal, turn back and dash towards the gift.
7-6, Mimic
Reach the zone shown in this picture:
Here, you’ll have to use the vessels to get to the top of the structure so you are at the same height as some platforms you can see from there. Dash there with the Blue Card, then do some simple parkour to reach the gift.
7-7, Trigger
For this gift, which is in a very high pillar near the spawn point, reach the following zone:
These two Balloon Demons will give you two Red Cards to dash upwards and towards the gift. It’s pretty easy to get.
7-8, Greenhouse
This gift is obtainable at the end of the level. To get it, progress as usual until you leave the greenhouse with a Green Card. You can reach the next platform without using a Yellow Card, so now, you have an extra Yellow Card in your deck.
Then, continue as you usually do until you reach the zone shown in the picture. Use the Red Card and the Yellow Card quickly to get the gift.
7-9, Sweep
The gift is up in a tower near the start of the level. To reach it, continue until you get your first Purple Card. Then, enter that room, shoot at the Mimic chest to clean the zone, and pick the Yellow Card. Use the Purple Card to get to the room’s roof and the Yellow Card to reach the gift.
7-10, Fuse
This one is a new gift you can give to Neon Green to unlock some memories. Here’s how you get it:
Mission 8: Benediction
8-1, Heaven’s Edge
This gift is near the ceiling, inside the building you explore, exactly in the zone with four wooden platforms. To reach it, you’ll have to impulse yourself with the Cyan Card to a nearby ledge, then do the same by shooting rockets at a wall.
8-2, Zipline
This gift is impossible to see during your usual path, and it involves a bit of exploring. Here’s a video on how to get it (the gift will be in the zone I landed at the end of the video):
8-3, Swing
This gift hides on the usual path of the level. It needs quite a bit of skill to pull it out, so refer to the following video:
8-4, Chute
Progress as usual through the level until you reach this zone with a Blue Demon.
As you get here, kill the Blue Demon and turn back; you’ll see a balcony. Use the rockets of the Cyan Card to reach it. Inside, you’ll see a hallway and some waterfalls. The gift is at the top of the waterfalls; use the rockets to get up.
8-5, Crash
This gift is at the top of a big building midway through the level. Here’s a video on how to get it:
8-6, Ascent
This one is the second gift for Neon Green. It has multiple steps to follow, and it goes something like this:
- Go through all the level until you see the ending portal. Instead of getting inside the building, go to the inclined roof.
- As you get there, start using the rockets to climb through the building until you reach this platform:
- It’ll set some Balloon Demons with Cyan Cards on them. Jump on these Demons so you reach the building in front of you. Then, in the air, start climbing with rockets again so you can step on the next platform. It looks like this:
- From here, use a Zipline in the panel nearby, and as you reach it, use a rocket to get some height.
- Lastly, use another Zipline to reach the platform, where you can find a portal that will take you to Sheol, where you can find the Coin.
8-7, Straightaway
This gift is up on a crane at the end of the level. You’ll need three Cyan Cards in your deck to get it. To do this, you’ll need to reach this part of the level:
Here, you’ll have to move around and continue, but instead of using ziplines, you’ll have to shoot rockets at walls. It’s tricky, but you can pull it out with practice. After that, continue as usual but don’t waste any rockets; you’ll need them.
As you reach the last water slide with a Green Demon, jump and aim to fall at the right side of the building. Then, start climbing with the rockets until you reach the top. Lastly, jump at the crane and use a zipline.
8-8, Firecracker
- First, reach the zone shown in the picture.
- At this point, you should be flying in the air, about to land on the Yellow Demon. Kill it and take its card.
- Let yourself fall, but at the same time, aim to land near the structure where the gift is. There’s an entrance at the bottom, so you can use the Yellow Card to get inside.
- Use all the Rockets you can (and a zipline) to reach the gift.
8-9, Streak
This gift is inside an office near the spawn point. It’s easy; advance as usual until you dash with a Blue Card on a Balloon Demon. At this point, you should have a Cyan Card; turn back and impulse yourself with the rockets on the tower until you see a vent. Get inside, and you’ll get the gift.
8-10, Mirror
This last gift hides on a tower near the glass walls. Here’s a video on how to get it:
Mission 9: Apocrypha
9-1, Escalation
This gift hides on a crane. It’s nearly impossible to see it during a regular run, so here’s a video that shows you how to get it:
https://youtu.be/fk-ZFv6vQq49-2, Bolt
This gift is inside a small room near the start of the level; you can see it from the spawn point. To reach it, you first have to get to this area:
Here, take the Cyan Card on a chest next to two Guardians, and kill all the Ringers of the zone; you’ll need the munition.
Stick to that building, and climb with rockets until you reach the top. Try not to use all the missiles, as you’ll need them. This will take you to a balcony where you can see the hidden room with the gift, and in front of you, you’ll also see the roof of the first apartment you enter during the usual route.
Jump there, climb to the top of the building, break the wall of the hidden room with a rocket, and then use a zipline to reach the gift.
9-3, Godstreak
The gift is on a balcony in a building behind the usual level route. To reach it, first, get to this zone of the level:
After that, kill the Blue and Yellow Demons, take their cards, turn back, and then it’s easy to make your way to the gift.
9-4, Plunge
This gift is hidden underneath a building behind the usual route when you reach the water slides zone. It’s easy to get. From the start of the level, reach the Red Card, but instead of dashing with it, keep it and try to land on this building:
The gift is underneath that building, so you must drop yourself to the right and dash.
9-5, Mayhem
Continue as usual through the level, but when you reach the zone with a Red Card vending machine, take two cards, and continue. Then, you’ll have to reach this zone:
Here, shoot at the Mimic Chests and then land there. Turn back, and you’ll see the gift in a room. Jump into the void and turn upwards; you’ll see a wooden floor you can dash through to the gift.
9-6, Barrage
For this gift, you’ll have to make your way to the top of the building with the three Purple Cards you can see in the picture. It’s not hard to pull out.
9-7, Estate
This gift is on the main path, in a room with a Guardian and a Yellow Demon. Continue as usual until you reach that zone.
Then, instead of using the Red Card to dash towards the Guardian, use it to dash towards the gift. You also have to use the Yellow Card to reach it.
9-8, Trapwire
Even though you can see this gift from the beginning, it’s tricky to get. Here’s a video on how to get it:
9-9, Ricochet
This gift hides on the rooftop of some buildings near the usual path. Here’s a video on how to get it:
9-10, Fortress
This gift is hidden in a tower of the fortress. You can get it by doing this:
- Continue as usual until getting to this zone:
- Pounce to get the Cyan Card, and as you get in the air, start moving to the left, where you can see some wooden decorations.
- If you explore further after landing, you’ll find a wooden door. The gift is there.
- Break the door with a rocket.
Mission 10: The Third Temple
10-1, Holy Ground
This one is another Coin that will let you advance with Green’s lore. Reach this part of the level:
Pick the Yellow Card, and then jump to the right. You’ll see a water slide that leads you to the portal that will take you to the Coin.
Mission 11: Thousand Pound Butterfly
11-1, Spree
From now on, you’ll have to use a Book of Life Card to teleport around places. There are ten gifts left; we are almost done!
For this one, you’ll have to advance until the end of the level, which is in a coliseum. There, teleport yourself to the Yellow Demon and then go through the hole near it. Here, you’ll see some Balloon Demons that will take you to the gift.
11-2, Breakthrough
For this gift, as the level starts, teleport to the first chest you see and then quickly dash upwards with the Red Card. You must land on a nearby platform leading you to the gift.
11-3, Glide
This gift is hidden at the top of a building. Let me show you how to find it:
11-4, Closer
Another well-hidden gift. This one is in a tower in the Cyan Cards sector. It’s tricky to get it, so here’s a tutorial to help you out:
11-5, Hike
This gift is on a tower near the start of the level. To get it, you’ll have to do some tricky timings, so here’s a video explaining it:
11-6, Switch
Turn back; there’s the gift. Pick the Book of Life, then align yourself in front of the gift. Walk backwards until you start falling, then turn up and teleport yourself to the nearest Shocker. It’ll shoot you towards the gift.
11-7, Access
Another tricky gift. Here’s how you can get it:
11-8, Congregation
The gift is at the end of the level. Progress as usual until you hit the room with several Guardians on small pillars. There are two Blue Demons; kill them, but don’t use their cards.
As you collect their cards, turn to the right side of the room; there are some arches you can step in, so dash there and look down; there’s a platform where you can get the gift.
11-9, Sequence
Progress as usual until you get to this part:
Here, you have to hit the middle Tripwire, so it’ll open a wall. Step exactly in the same place as in the picture to avoid dying. Then, get inside and pick the gift up.
11-10, Marathon
Lastly, Marathon. The longest level of the game. This gift is a Coin for the last memory of Green. To reach the coin, you first have to find the portal. Here’s a video of how to do this:
FAQs
Question: Which is the most challenging gift to get in Neon White?
Answer: There are strong contenders. The one that took me the most was the gift from 3-10, Superkinetic, but 8-10 and 11-10 are also hard to get.
Question: Which is the most hidden gift in Neon White?
Answer: I have no doubts about this question; it is the gift from 9-1, Escalation. This gift is hidden in a crane very far from the usual path of the level. It’s also tough to get, as you have to do tricky timings with Red Cards in the air. This gift was one of the few that made me get mad!
Question: What do the gifts do in Neon White?
Answer: The gifts unlock sidequests, extra dialogs and moments with characters, gifts from Raz and Mikey that will decorate your room, and most importantly, a secret ending, which I feel is canon. I hope that if Neon White gets another game, the story starts from there.
Neon White Gift Locations: Conclusion
Discovering this game was a blessing. While creating this guide, I spent 37 hours playing it, usually until the sun started to rise, recording clips, getting gifts, and feeling accomplished whenever I discovered the location of a hidden gift or pulled a trick out to reach an elusive gift.
I felt powerful; this game isn’t easy, and that’s what I love the most about beating it. It has been a while since I felt this good for beating a game.
Neon White is now on my favorites list, ranking very high there. I’m sure I’ll revisit this game in a couple of months. Who knows, maybe I’ll be the next guy with a speedrun record of this game!
